Matthew Crawford Hunter was born September 21, 1839 in Etna, Pa
to Joseph Hunter and Catherine Boyer. The 1860 census lists Matthew as a Blacksmith and living at home with his mother
and siblings. He was married to Sarah E. Dinsmore (1840-1903). To their union was born 5 children: John M., Katherine
E., Susan L., Maude, and Waldo. Matthew passed away August 29, 1906.
