MOVING DAY!  Here are a few pictures from the day the car was moved from my garage to it's current home at the body shop.

 

The engine and transmission are out of the car and ready to head for the machine and transmission shops.  Hopefully things won't be as bad as I think they are going to be.  Out of the car, they look pretty grungy!

Here are a couple of shots showing the car while its trim is being removed.  The panels look pretty good in these images.  Only a few problems on the rockers.

Here are a couple more pictures one showing the damage under the passenger side headlight and the other showing the empty engine compartment.

Here are a few more images showing coral paint around the horsecollar and behind the front grilles- evidence that the front end has been replaced.  There is also a good deal of rot under the passenger side headlight.

The patching is done on the passenger side.  I removed the teletouch motor today to send it off to Mike Brogan.  Yes, that's me inside the engine compartment, fighting with wires and rusty bolts.

The welding is done on the lower parts of the driver's side, but there is a considerable amount of damage to the fender near the driver's side headlight.

Patching is nearly done around the driver's side headlight.  Almost like new!

(At right) The welding under the driver's side headlight is done.  Things are starting to shape up!

Here are a couple shots showing the front end after the welding was done.

The rear end of the car is pushed and pulled back into shape.  Unfortunately, the before picture (below) doesn't show just how badly it was pushed out of line.

At right is a photo of part of the underside of the car. The floors are in great shape!

The engine compartment is primed and ready for painting.

.... and the first taste of color!

The trunk is primed and ready for painting.

The hood, trunk lid, and roof are all stripped... and the inside of the trunk is painted.

The hood insulation will need to be replaced and there is some welding to be done along the front edge of the hood.

The undersides of the hood and trunk lid are painted.  The insulation still needs to be removed.

 

The insulation under the hood has been removed.  Soon the car will go into storage for the winter.

 

 

 

(At left) The damage on the passenger side front fender is repaired.  It looked pretty much like the driver's side.

(At left) The engine compartment is ready to be primed for painting. 

 

(Left and below) The engine compartment is all ready for the engine.
